  When you arrive, you are greeted by a waiter wearing a bodywarmer who gives you a piece of cheese and a small glass of some spirit, and you get one of the local liqueurs (such as Ronmiel - honeyrum) served over ice before you leave.

  AMAZING!!!! Great service,loved the goat stew special, enjoy the desert...stay awhile, drink the local vino. All around great choice,happy to find this little gem.

  The reason for the bodywarmers soon became apparent as this was a very cold spell by Lanzarote standards, there is no heating, and inexplicably, the large front doors are never closed, which also allows some smoke from the smokers outside to penetrate. It loses half a star for having to eat in our coats, and another half for slow service at times - it took us a good 30 minutes to get the bill, pay and leave on the second night. The restaurant was quite busy with pre-Christmas parties so this may not be typical. The waiter also pocketed the tip without a word of thanks (ok, €5 on a €60 total bill is perhaps slightly low, but on our first night we had tipped the same waiter over 10 percent and I had no other change on the second night).

  On the first occasion, I had an octopus starter which was very good, my partner's chicken soup was disappointing. The mains of goat 'goulash' (read stew) was plentiful and interesting. On the second occasion, the main was a little too salty but filling again, and we tried the local dessert of bienmesabe, which is a sticky, nutty, syrup served over ice cream.

  As we were staying next door, we ate here twice, two days apart. We were rather surprised that the supposed daily 'special' and the 'soup of the day' did not change. There is an extensive menu though, so plenty of other options.
